Summer is a time for relaxing and enjoying the hot weather – but just because you’re relaxing doesn’t mean you can ignore taking care of your car. To help keep your car running smoothly all year, we’ve put together some quick summer car maintenance tips.
Keep cool. You don’t want to get stuck in the sweltering summer heat without air conditioning, so make sure you get your air conditioning unit checked over if it’s been acting up so that you don’t have to worry about sweating in the sun. Also, check your car’s coolant levels to ensure it doesn’t overheat.
Change your car’s wipers. It’s likely your windshield wipers saw a lot of action during the winter and spring months. That makes summer the perfect time to change them so that your visibility doesn’t suffer in the warmer months. It’s easy to do by yourself and a cheap way to keep your car out on the road.
Give your car a clean. When your car’s windows are dirty, it be harder to see obstacles out on the road. Give your car a good scrub down to not only make it look sparkly, but also to improve your visibility on those long evenings when the sun is low.
If you find that your car needs more service, make sure to bring it in to Transwest Chevrolet Buick for our talented technicians to look over.

One of the General Motors brands that we are proud to represent is Chevrolet, which has a storied history here in the United States. Chevrolet was founded back in 1911. Since that time, it has produced a wide range of powerful and efficient vehicles here in the US and globally.
Chevy’s car lineup includes the Chevrolet Spark, Sonic, Cruze, Malibu, and Impala. Chevy is also known for its performance models, including the Chevrolet Camaro muscle car and the high-performance Chevrolet Corvette, which includes the Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1. Chevy’s electric car lineup includes the plug-in hybrid Chevy Volt and the all-electric, extended-range Chevrolet Bolt EV.
Crossovers and SUVs have been growing in popularity here in the US in the last two decades, and Chevy has met that growing demand with a diverse lineup of dependable and efficient models. This lineup includes, from smallest to largest, the Chevrolet Trax, Equinox, Traverse, Tahoe, and Suburban.
Chevy’s truck lineup includes the world’s most dependable pickup truck, based on vehicle registration data from the last three decades: the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Other trucks include the Silverado 2500HD, Silverado 3500HD, and Colorado.
Chevrolet also offers a lineup of commercial vehicles.

Over the past century, Chevrolet has cultivated a reputation for building rough-and-tumble pickup trucks that can help get any job done. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet trucks, and Transwest Chevrolet Buick want to celebrate by looking back at the history of Chevrolet trucks.
The first Chevy truck to arrive on the market was introduced in 1918 and was known as the One-Ton. As the first purpose-built truck from the brand, it was an affordable and flexible platform that customers could build on to create a vehicle that suited their needs.
In 1929, the International Series AC Light Delivery became the first truck to feature an OHV six-cylinder engine, which offered 46 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. This truck still had an old-school style, though, something that changed with the 1938 Chevrolet Half-Ton, which was the first truck designed by the Art and Color department.
The truck style continued to change with the 1947 Chevy 3100 Series offering an all-new look that featured a 5-bar horizontal grille and a rounded profile. Throughout the years, the Chevy truck style began to take trips from the sedans in the brand’s lineup, incorporating more comfortable seating and more color options.
In 1973, though, we got the first glimpse of the square body design that helped improve aerodynamics and efficiency, something the brand continues to do even now.
Now, to help celebrate the Chevy truck lineup’s 100th birthday, the brand is offering a Centennial Edition Silverado and Colorado, which looks to its legacy for design inspiration.
The 100-year history of Chevy trucks is filled with amazing milestone moments and great trucks. We look forward to the next century!
